How to solve Rubik’s cube (for beginners)

A lot of people think that solving a Rubik’s cube is impossible or that you have to be smart to do it. But with a bit of thinking, some memorization, and practicing anyone can do it.

The outline of a beginner’s method is fairly simple. First, you build a white cross then you solve the white edges and the first layer, after that, you solve a second layer and in the end the yellow face and the last layer. And although this may sound intimidating at first, it gets easier after some practice and when the algorithms become part of your muscle memory.

1. Step: the white cross

The first step of the beginner’s method is solving a white cross, that has edges connected to the correct centerpieces.

The way you want to start doing a white cross is first making a “daisy flower” around the yellow center. You don’t have to worry about the connection to the orange, blue, red, and green centerpieces yet.

The first thing is that you want to make sure is that yellow is facing up and white is facing down.
